First Day of School

Now, the first day of school was reportedly awesome. But here's the funny part. The boys hopped off bus and I asked them if anything happened at school today. They talked about their great teachers, good friends, and the same friendly bus driver.

Me: Anything else happen today, boys?

Dylan: Oh, yeah. The bus broke down! Can't believe that happened on the first day!

Me: Yeah, I noticed... you were really late getting home. But did anything ELSE happen, boys??

Dylan: Uh, no.....

Haley: Earthquake... Earthquake... Earthquake...

Dylan: Huh?

Daniel: I gotta pee.

Me: Didn't you hear Haley?

Dylan: What?

Me: Earthquake. She's saying earthquake.

Dylan: What's she mean?

Me: Seriously? You didn't feel that earthquake today??

Dylan: What earthquake?!? I missed an earthquake?!?


I guess the school did a fantastic job of keeping the kids calm.

"No big deal, kids. The entire east coast just rattled around for a minute. Now back to work, folks..."
